The study is a research in the possibility of expanding the city of The Hague into the North Sea by making offshore urban islands in front of the coast. Each island is conceived as a civil engineering structure rising from the sea. The houses are sunk into the island as patio dwellings with sheltered courtyards in the rough sea climate. A part of the house protrudes above the platform to have a panoramic view. There are also larger structures such hotels or communal facilities foreseen on the islands. The islands are self-supporting by using windmills for power supply.
