The headquarter office for the ABN AMRO Bank is stacked to form a 100-metre high tower. A glass bell jar protects the building from wind, rain and traffic noise but also permits an entirely different climatic concept with natural ventilation and open able windows. Setbacks in the block generate a series of winter gardens that are used as semi-public areas. At these pockets one finds the central facilities such as conference centre and restaurants. The pockets are linked by a system of escalators, lifts and staircases, turning the complex into a true vertical city.
