The design for the new Moscow city hall is a sculptural volume that sits on the riverbank and forms a new image for the Moscow skyline. The large interior void of the building is connected to the main public transportation system by means of a subway station and underground concourse that opens up directly to the main hall. The parliament is shaped as a shining golden sphere in the heart of the building, while the mayor’s offices form the crown of the building. The public domain is designed to receive outdoor manifestations and activities.
