This office building on Schiphol Airport is heavily determined by the proximity to the airport runways with its noise levels, kerosene smell and strong winds. To counter these negative conditions the building has been encased in a glass skin that forms a winter garden around the actual office building. This conservatory reduces noise and makes it possible to open the office windows into four enclosed gardens. It is used as a seasonal buffer zone that makes the building very energy efficient and generates high quality working environment with odorous olive trees and eucalyptus bushes.
